Porcelain Crowns
Natural, beautiful, long-lasting appearance
Dental crowns can be used for both practical or cosmetic dental reasons. Crown are beneficial because it adds strength to the damaged or weakened tooth, because it completely covers the natural tooth.
Although there are several types of crowns, porcelain (tooth colored crown) are the most popular, because they resemble your natural teeth. They are highly durable and will last many years, but like most dental restorations, they may eventually need to be replaced. Porcelain crowns are made to match the shape, size, and color or your teeth giving you a natural, long-lasting beautiful smile.
Reasons for crowns:
Broken or fractured teeth
Cosmetic enhancement
Decayed teeth
Fractured fillings
Large fillings
Tooth has a root canal
Scenarios for Crowns
Correcting a Poor Quality Restoration

Before
Front (left) Central tooth has a poor restoration. Does not look natural and is not contoured properly to match the gumline of the rest of the teeth.

After
Replaced with an All Porcelain Crown (no metal). Tooth is now contoured to match the rest of the gumline. Restored tooth looks very natural and matches the shape and color of the patient’s teeth.
Single Tooth Replacement

Before
Patient needs a Single Tooth Replacement of one Upper Central Incisor.

After
Smile and function restored with a Single Implant and an All Porcelain Crown (Cap) that fits securely over the implant.
Unevenly Shaped and Colored Replacement Tooth

Before
Patient was unhappy with six Upper Anterior teeth. The edges were uneven, gumline uneven on the two central incisors, and the color and shading was not uniform. The two lateral incisor teeth were previously restored and in poor shape.

After
Smile restored with 6 Upper Anterior Crowns by properly shaping the tooth, aligning the gumline, and color correcting the tooth for all 6 incisor teeth.

Before
Patient had 4 Upper Anterior Crowns (caps) that were poorly in color-matched and shaped.

After
Smile restored and enhanced with 4 Upper Anterior All Porcelain Crowns. The replacement tooth was shade and color-matched to the patient’s natural enamel and the two Central Incisors were lengthened to create a more natural smile.
Worn, Chiped and Gumline Recession

Before
Patient needed Upper Arch Rehabilitation. Upper Anterior teeth were stained, incisal edges (tooth edge) worn down and chipped, and gumline recession present.

After
Smile restored with placement of 8 Upper All Porcelain Crowns (Caps). Gumline and incisal edges are now uniform. Patient now has longer, better shaped teeth enhancing their smile line and aidding in chewing and biting.
